Kanga Exchange review: DOGE for złoty, eyes open

Kanga runs one of the few live DOGE/PLN order books, and its EU arm got a MiCA licence from Latvia in June 2026. Its fees aren’t public and an old KNF warning entry remains. Here is the full picture.

CEX.IO no longer onboards new EU/EEA users (existing accounts are withdrawal-only) while its MiCA application is pending. EU readers should use the MiCA-licensed local options covered on this page.

Kanga Exchange verdict in brief

Kanga Exchange is one of the very few places where you can trade Dogecoin directly against the Polish złoty on a real order book. On 14 October 2026 its public API showed a live DOGE/PLN market with about 250,855 DOGE traded in 24 hours, worth roughly zł82,000. Its EU company, SIA AlphaRoute, was authorised under MiCA by the Bank of Latvia on 18 June 2026, and ESMA’s register lists Poland among the countries it may serve.

That is the good news. The rest needs care. We could not find a public fee schedule. The European site says PLN spot markets are still being rolled out in stages. And an entry on the Polish regulator KNF’s warning list, naming the companies behind the original kanga.exchange site, is still there. We score Kanga 6.0 out of 10: a useful złoty on-ramp for DOGE, with more homework than we’d like. Our Dogecoin exchange reviews compare it with the other venues we cover.

Why we review Kanga, not zondacrypto

Our original plan for Poland was a review of zondacrypto, formerly BitBay and long the country’s best-known exchange. That plan ended with the company. Its operator, BB Trade Estonia OÜ, had its Estonian licence partially suspended by the Financial Intelligence Unit on 18 May 2026, then reportedly revoked on 29 June. On 27 August 2026 a Tallinn court reportedly declared the company bankrupt, and Polish prosecutors in Katowice are running a criminal case with estimated damage of at least zł350 million. All of this is still in open proceedings, so these are allegations, not verdicts. When we tried its website and API on 14 October 2026, they did not respond.

The lesson for DOGE holders is blunt: a well-known brand is not the same as a safe custodian. That is why this review spends as much time on licences and warnings as on prices.

  1. Licence partly suspended

Estonia’s FIU bars BB Trade Estonia OÜ, the zondacrypto operator, from taking new clients or assets.

  2. Kanga’s EU arm authorised

The Bank of Latvia authorises SIA AlphaRoute (Kanga Exchange EU) as a MiCA CASP.

  3. zondacrypto licence revoked

Reported revocation of the Estonian licence (press reports).

  4. MiCA transition ends in Poland

With no national law, Polish users rely on CASPs passported from other EU states.

  5. zondacrypto operator bankrupt

A Tallinn court reportedly declares BB Trade Estonia OÜ bankrupt; a Polish criminal case continues.

Who runs Kanga Exchange

Kanga presents itself as a Polish exchange, and its interface, support and community are in Polish. The corporate picture is more layered. In January 2023 Poland’s consumer watchdog UOKiK opened proceedings against Good Solution Investments Limited, a company registered in Belize that operated Kanga Exchange, alleging it had misled customers by presenting itself as Polish and as approved by the KNF. Kanga’s management rejected the allegations. We could not confirm the outcome of those proceedings from an official source.

In 2026 Kanga moved its European business under an EU-regulated company: SIA AlphaRoute, based in Riga, Latvia, trading as Kanga Exchange EU. Its CEO, Dominik Tomczyk, told Cointelegraph that pre-licensing work began in November 2025. The kanga.exchange site’s copyright line runs from 2018, and it now tells European visitors to use kangaexchange.eu, which it calls fully MiCA-compliant.

Kanga’s MiCA licence and the KNF warning

Poland has no national MiCA law. President Nawrocki vetoed the crypto-asset bill three times, most recently on 11 June 2026, so there is no Polish authority that can license an exchange. Since the transition ended on 1 July 2026, Polish customers have been served by firms authorised in other EU countries and “passported” into Poland. Kanga took exactly that route.

ESMA’s interim MiCA register, in the file dated 7 October 2026, lists SIA AlphaRoute as authorised by Latvijas Banka on 18 June 2026 for custody, running a trading platform, exchanging crypto for money and for other crypto, placing crypto-assets and transfer services. Cointelegraph reported it as a Class 3 licence, the highest MiCA category. For DOGE buyers, the key detail is that the services cover Poland.

The KNF part is older but still visible. On 14 October 2026 KNF’s public warning list still carried entry 147, naming Good Investments LTD and Good Solution Investments Limited “in connection with the operation of the kanga.exchange website”, based on suspected activity without a required authorisation. The same entry records that the Warsaw prosecutor discontinued the investigation on 18 October 2022 and that a court upheld that decision on 18 April 2025. In plain terms: no charge followed, but the warning has not been removed. More on Poland’s rules, BLIK and tax is in our guide to buying Dogecoin in Poland.

The DOGE/PLN market on Kanga

Kanga lists three Dogecoin pairs in its public API: DOGE/PLN, DOGE/USDT and DOGE/USDC. The złoty book is the reason to be here. In the late evening of 14 October 2026 (UTC) the API showed a last price of zł0.32102, a 24-hour range of zł0.31912 to zł0.33351, and volume of about 250,855 DOGE. CoinGecko put Kanga’s DOGE/PLN volume at about $20,000 for the day, which is almost the entire tracked DOGE-złoty market.

zł0.32102Last DOGE/PLN tradeKanga API, 14 Oct 2026
≈ 1.0%Bid–ask spread at the timezł0.32054 / zł0.32391

That spread is worth pausing on. At about 1%, buying with a market order and selling straight back would cost you roughly that much before any fee. Kanga’s depth below the best bid looked healthy, with tens of thousands of DOGE resting at each nearby price level, so a limit order is the sensible tool here. The widget at the top shows a live DOGE price in złoty. Kanga’s last trade may differ slightly.

How to buy DOGE on Kanga, step by step

The flow is the same as at any order-book exchange. The one Kanga-specific step is making sure you are on the right entity.

  1. Use the right Kanga site

Kanga points European visitors to kangaexchange.eu, run by SIA AlphaRoute, the MiCA-authorised company. Check in your account which entity you contract with before you deposit.

  2. Verify your identity

Complete the KYC checks with your ID. Under MiCA and EU anti-money-laundering rules you cannot fund an account before this is done.

  3. Deposit złoty

Pick a PLN deposit method in the app. BLIK through ZEN.COM has been announced; bank transfer is the other usual route. Read the fee and limit shown before you confirm.

  4. Buy on DOGE/PLN with a limit order

The spread was about 1% when we checked, so a limit order placed between the best bid and ask can save more than any fee discount.

  5. Withdraw to your own wallet

Send DOGE you plan to keep on the native Dogecoin network to an address starting with D. Do a small test first and check the fee on screen.

If you are new to the process, our beginner guide to buying Dogecoin explains every stage, and our Dogecoin wallet guide helps you pick where to keep your coins once they leave the exchange.

Kanga fees and PLN deposits

We looked for a fee schedule on kanga.exchange and kangaexchange.eu on 14 October 2026 and could not find one; the fees link on the older site led back to the home page. That is the main reason Kanga scores lower than the MiCA-licensed euro exchanges we review. What we can show is the cost you can measure from outside: the spread.

On funding, ZEN.COM has published an announcement that Polish Kanga users can top up with BLIK through its gateway. The release carries no date and no fee details, so treat BLIK as possible rather than confirmed, and read the deposit screen. Our guide to paying for Dogecoin by card, BLIK and other methods compares the usual costs, and our Dogecoin calculator shows what a złoty amount buys.

Tax is simpler. In Poland, income from selling crypto for money is taxed at 19% and declared on PIT-38, with documented costs deductible and unused costs carried forward, per podatki.gov.pl.

Kanga security record

We found no reported hack or withdrawal freeze at Kanga. Polish press has covered Kanga warning its users about a phishing campaign, which says more about the attackers than the exchange, but it is a reminder to type the address yourself and never log in through a link in an email or text. The absence of incidents is not proof of strong security, and we did not assess whether Kanga publishes proof of reserves.

MiCA authorisation does add real protections: rules on segregating client assets, custody and complaints handling, supervised by the Bank of Latvia. That is a meaningful step up from the pre-2026 setup. After the zondacrypto collapse, though, the sensible habit for any Polish DOGE buyer is the same: buy on the exchange, then withdraw what you plan to hold. Our Dogecoin scams guide covers phishing and fake “recovery” offers, which spread after every exchange failure.

Kanga pros, cons and our score

👍 What we like

  • Rare live DOGE/PLN order book with steady volume
  • MiCA authorisation via the Bank of Latvia, passported to Poland
  • Also lists DOGE/USDT and DOGE/USDC
  • No hack found in our research

👀 What to watch

  • No public fee schedule we could find
  • Old KNF warning entry on the original operator still listed
  • EU site says PLN spot markets are still rolling out
  • Spread of about 1% on DOGE/PLN when we checked
  • BLIK availability and fees unconfirmed

We weight regulation at 30%, DOGE fiat access and liquidity at 20%, fees and transparency at 20%, security record at 20% and DOGE features at 10%. Kanga scores well on fiat access, because a live DOGE/PLN book is rare, and reasonably on security, with no incident found. Regulation is mixed: a fresh MiCA licence, set against the KNF entry and the split between the old and new platforms. Transparency is the weak spot, with no public fees.

Our take

6.0 / 10. If you want to swap złoty for DOGE on an order book, Kanga is close to the only game in town, and its EU arm now holds a MiCA licence. Confirm which entity you are dealing with, check the fee before each order, use limit orders, and withdraw to your own wallet. Such diligence, very wow.

Alternatives to Kanga and who it suits

Polish DOGE buyers have a few MiCA-authorised alternatives, each with trade-offs. None of the others we checked offers a true DOGE/PLN order book.

Bitpanda prices DOGE in złoty as a broker, with published premiums, and holds a MiCA licence from Austria. Coinbase is reported to accept BLIK for direct purchases at around 2.6%. Kraken trades DOGE under the ticker XDG against the euro only. CEX.IO, a long-running global exchange, does not take new sign-ups from EU or EEA residents while its MiCA application with Spain’s CNMV is pending; existing EU accounts are withdrawal-only. Binance has no DOGE/PLN spot pair and is not in the ESMA register.

Kanga suits Polish residents who specifically want to buy DOGE with złoty on an order book, are comfortable using limit orders, and will check fees in the app. It is a weaker choice if you want fully published pricing or a platform with a long, clean regulatory history. When it is time to cash out, our guide to selling Dogecoin explains how to move DOGE back and withdraw złoty.

Its EU company, SIA AlphaRoute (brand Kanga Exchange EU), was authorised as a crypto-asset service provider by the Bank of Latvia on 18 June 2026, according to ESMA’s register. The register lists Poland among the countries where it may offer services.

Is Kanga on the KNF warning list?+

An entry naming Good Investments LTD and Good Solution Investments Limited, in connection with the kanga.exchange website, was still on KNF’s public warning list when we checked on 14 October 2026. The entry notes that a court on 18 April 2025 upheld the prosecutor’s 2022 decision to discontinue the investigation.

What are Kanga’s fees for DOGE?+

We could not find a fee schedule for Kanga on its public pages on 14 October 2026. Check the fee preview in the app before you place an order or withdraw. The live DOGE/PLN spread was about 1% when we looked, which can matter more than the trading fee on small orders.

Can I deposit with BLIK on Kanga?+

ZEN.COM has announced BLIK top-ups for Kanga Exchange users in Poland, but the press release is undated and we could not confirm current availability or fees. Check the deposit screen in the app for the options open to your account.

What happened to zondacrypto?+

Estonia’s FIU partially suspended the licence of its operator, BB Trade Estonia OÜ, on 18 May 2026; the licence was reported revoked on 29 June 2026, and a Tallinn court reportedly declared the company bankrupt on 27 August 2026. A criminal case is open in Poland. These are allegations in ongoing proceedings. Do not send funds there.

Do I pay tax on Dogecoin gains in Poland?+

Yes. Income from selling crypto for money is taxed at 19% and declared on PIT-38, with documented costs deductible and excess costs carried forward, according to podatki.gov.pl.
