Bitpanda Dogecoin review: easy euro broker, hidden premium

Bitpanda lets you buy DOGE in a few taps with SEPA or PayPal, prices it in twelve currencies and holds MiCA licences in Austria, Germany and Malta. You pay for the convenience through a premium of up to 2.49% inside the price.

CEX.IO no longer onboards new EU/EEA users (existing accounts are withdrawal-only) while its MiCA application is pending. EU readers should use the MiCA-licensed local options covered on this page.

Quick verdict

Bitpanda Dogecoin buying is built for people who don’t want to look at an order book. You pick DOGE, enter an amount in euros (or one of eleven other currencies), and Bitpanda quotes you a price. That price includes a premium that Bitpanda’s own help pages put somewhere between 0.00% and 2.49%. In return you get a polished app, free SEPA deposits, PayPal in some countries, and a regulatory set-up that few EU brokers can match: three MiCA authorisations across Austria, Germany and Malta.

We score Bitpanda 8.0 out of 10. It’s excellent on licensing and currency coverage, and loses points because the DOGE premium and the DOGE withdrawal fee are not published in advance. Compare it with order-book exchanges in our Dogecoin exchange reviews.

Who Bitpanda is

Bitpanda GmbH is based in Vienna, at Stella-Klein-Löw-Weg 17 according to the ESMA register. The company was founded in 2014 under the name Coinimal and is part of Bitpanda Group AG. It has grown into one of Europe’s best-known retail crypto brokers and also offers stocks and ETFs in the same app.

The important word for a DOGE buyer is broker. Bitpanda is the counterparty to your trade: you buy DOGE at the price it shows rather than matching with other users on an order book. Its public ticker on 14 October 2026 quoted DOGE in EUR, USD, CHF, GBP, TRY, PLN, HUF, CZK, NOK, SEK, DKK and RON. That day DOGE was quoted at about €0.0731, 4.03 Turkish lira and 0.32 złoty. Few platforms let you price DOGE in so many local currencies, which matters to users in Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic or the Nordics who would otherwise convert to euros first.

Three MiCA licences

ESMA’s interim MiCA register, checked on 14 October 2026, lists three Bitpanda entities as authorised crypto-asset service providers. Each sits under a different national regulator, which is unusual and gives Bitpanda a strong base across the EU.

For you, the practical effect is that Bitpanda can passport its services across the EEA from a licensed base. To check an entry yourself, search ESMA’s MiCA register by legal entity name and look at the passport column for your country. Austria and Germany both used 12-month MiCA transitions that ended around 30 December 2025, so by now only authorised firms may serve retail clients in either country. Our guides to Dogecoin in Austria and Dogecoin in Germany cover the local rules and taxes.

How to buy Dogecoin on Bitpanda

German speakers search for “Bitpanda Dogecoin kaufen”; the steps are the same in every language and take a few minutes after verification.

  1. Register and verify

Create an account in the app or on the web and complete the identity check with an ID document.

  2. Deposit money

SEPA in euros is free. PayPal deposits cost 1.49% and arrive instantly where available; card fees are shown at checkout.

  3. Find Dogecoin

Search for DOGE. The asset page shows the current price in your chosen currency.

  4. Enter an amount and review

Type how much you want to spend. The trade summary shows the price you get and the premium applied, between 0.00% and 2.49%.

  5. Buy, then decide on storage

Confirm the purchase. Keep DOGE in your Bitpanda account or withdraw it to your own Dogecoin wallet.

We could not find a published minimum purchase for DOGE, so check it in the app. Bitpanda offers savings plans for recurring purchases on many assets, but we could not confirm DOGE eligibility on 14 October 2026. If you’re new to the process, our guide to buying Dogecoin explains the steps that apply on any platform.

Buy DOGE

Bitpanda Dogecoin fees and spreads

On a standard buy or sell, Bitpanda does not charge a separate fee line. Instead the fee is built into the price, and its help article says the trade summary shows a premium “ranging from 0.00% to 2.49%”. Where DOGE sits in that range on a given day is not published in advance, so the only reliable way to know is to open the trade summary and look.

SEPA deposit (EUR)FreeUsually the cheapest route
PayPal deposit1.49%Instant; availability by country

To put that range in perspective: if DOGE carried the maximum 2.49% premium, a €100 purchase would cost about €2.49, compared with €0.25 for a taker order of the same size on Bitvavo. If it carried a low premium the gap would be much smaller. That uncertainty is the main reason Bitpanda scores below Bitvavo. Such premium, very hidden.

Bitpanda Fusion, the advanced trading mode in the same app, uses degressive maker and taker fees that fall as your volume grows. Bitpanda’s fee page has the current tiers; we haven’t reproduced them because we couldn’t confirm the DOGE-specific figures. If you trade more than occasionally, Fusion is worth comparing against the standard buy screen. Our Dogecoin calculator shows how a percentage cost compounds over repeated purchases.

Deposits and Bitpanda Dogecoin withdrawal

Funding is straightforward. Euro SEPA transfers are free. PayPal deposits cost 1.49% and, according to Bitpanda’s support pages, work in Austria and Germany. Card deposits are possible, with the fee shown at checkout. Bitpanda’s Dogecoin page shows PayPal, Visa and Mastercard logos. One caution for German users: some third-party listings still mention giropay, which shut down at the end of 2024, so ignore that option.

On the way out, we could not find a published DOGE withdrawal fee or minimum for Bitpanda. The fee is displayed in the app before you confirm a withdrawal. That’s workable, but it means you can’t compare it with Bitvavo’s published 3.9 DOGE ahead of time.

Selling DOGE back to euros happens at a quoted price, with the same premium logic as buying. Our guide to selling Dogecoin covers cashing out and taxes. For Austrian residents there’s a practical upside: domestic providers have withheld the 27.5% special tax rate on crypto income arising after 31 December 2023, per Austria’s finance ministry, which simplifies tax filing for Bitpanda users in Austria.

Security record and app

We found no reported hack of Bitpanda’s exchange in the sources we checked, though the absence of reports isn’t proof. Bitpanda states that it holds ISO 27001 certification and a SOC 2 Type 2 report, which are independent standards for information-security management and controls. It doesn’t publish a DOGE-specific proof-of-reserves attestation that we could find, unlike Bitvavo.

The app is rated 4.7 out of 5 from about 56,000 ratings on the German App Store (checked 13 October 2026). It’s clean and suits beginners, with crypto, stocks and ETFs in one place. The flip side of that simplicity is that the price you pay isn’t broken down in the main view. The standard advice applies: turn on two-factor authentication, ignore unsolicited “support” messages, and read our Dogecoin scams guide for the patterns that target EU users.

Pros, cons and our score

👍 What we like

  • Three MiCA authorisations (FMA, BaFin, MFSA)
  • DOGE priced in 12 fiat currencies, including TRY and PLN
  • Free SEPA deposits; PayPal in some countries
  • Beginner-friendly app with high ratings
  • Domestic tax withholding for Austrian users

👀 What to watch

  • Broker premium of up to 2.49%
  • DOGE premium and withdrawal fee not published
  • PayPal deposits cost 1.49%
  • No order book on the standard buy screen

Using our weighting (regulation 30%, DOGE access and liquidity 20%, fees and transparency 20%, security 20%, DOGE features 10%), Bitpanda earns top marks on regulation and strong marks on fiat access. Fees and transparency is its weakest area, because both the premium and the withdrawal fee only appear at the moment you act. Security is solid with no reported hack. The result is 8.0 out of 10, level with Coinbase and half a point behind Bitvavo.

Our take

Bitpanda is the comfortable choice for EU beginners, especially in Austria and Germany or in non-euro currencies like złoty and kronor. Always read the trade summary, and consider Fusion if you buy often.

Alternatives and who Bitpanda suits

The closest rival is Bitvavo, an order-book exchange with a maximum 0.25% taker fee and a published DOGE withdrawal fee; see our Bitvavo Dogecoin review. Coinbase is the other big MiCA-licensed option with DOGE order books in euros, dollars and pounds; our Coinbase Dogecoin review covers its fees. In Germany, BISON and Kraken also list DOGE, and in Austria Bybit EU and Kraken are among the authorised alternatives. CEX.IO is not available to new EU users while its MiCA application is pending.

Bitpanda suits EU beginners who value a simple app, pay in euros or another European currency, and like the comfort of a locally licensed broker. It suits less cost-focused traders who want to see an exact fee before every order, or anyone who plans frequent DOGE withdrawals and wants a fixed fee they can plan around.

Questions people ask

Can you buy Dogecoin on Bitpanda?+

Yes. Bitpanda’s public ticker on 14 October 2026 quoted DOGE in twelve fiat currencies, including EUR, USD, CHF, GBP, TRY and PLN. Bitpanda is a broker, so you buy at a quoted price rather than on an order book.

What are Bitpanda’s fees for Dogecoin?+

On a standard buy or sell the fee is built into the price, and Bitpanda’s trade summary shows a premium ranging from 0.00% to 2.49%. The exact premium for DOGE is not published in advance. SEPA deposits are free and PayPal deposits cost 1.49%.

What is the Bitpanda Dogecoin withdrawal fee?+

We could not find a published DOGE withdrawal fee or minimum. Bitpanda shows the fee in the app before you confirm a withdrawal, so check it there and send a small test amount first.

Is Bitpanda regulated?+

Yes. Bitpanda GmbH was authorised under MiCA by Austria’s FMA on 9 April 2025, Bitpanda Asset Management GmbH by Germany’s BaFin on 24 January 2025, and BP23 CA Limited by Malta’s MFSA on 27 January 2025, according to ESMA’s register.

Is Bitpanda good for Dogecoin in Germany and Austria?+

It is one of the most convenient options: licensed in both countries, with SEPA and PayPal deposits and a beginner-friendly app. Austrian users also benefit from domestic withholding of the 27.5% crypto tax. The trade-off is a broker premium that can be higher than an order-book fee.

Bitpanda vs Coinbase for Dogecoin?+

Both hold MiCA licences. Bitpanda prices DOGE in more local currencies and suits buy-and-hold beginners; Coinbase offers DOGE order books in USD, EUR and GBP with published minimums. Both score 8.0 in our reviews.

Easy buys, clear costs

Before you confirm any DOGE purchase, compare the quoted price with the market price. The gap is the real fee.
