Quick verdict
CoinDCX is one of India’s best-known crypto exchanges, and for Dogecoin it offers what Indian buyers need most: a native DOGE/INR order book, a ₹100 minimum, and rupee deposits through UPI and bank transfer. On 14 October 2026 its public API showed DOGEINR active, with the last trade at ₹8.19.
Two things hold it back. In July 2025 CoinDCX lost about $44.2 million from an internal account, a serious incident by any standard. And its official fee page blocked our checks, while third-party fee figures disagree with each other. A CoinDCX Dogecoin purchase works, but you should go in knowing both. Our score: 6.5 out of 10.
Who is behind CoinDCX
CoinDCX’s holding company is reported as Neblio Technologies Pvt Ltd. The exchange is widely described as founded in 2018 and based in Mumbai; we could not confirm either detail from a primary source. Its chief executive is Sumit Gupta, who spoke publicly after the 2025 hack.
CoinDCX also has a high-profile backer. Coinbase agreed an investment valuing CoinDCX at $2.45 billion post-money, with closing subject to approvals, according to a post on CoinDCX’s own blog. We could not open the post to confirm its date, so we leave the timing out. An investor is not a guarantor, but it does suggest serious outside due diligence.
FIU-IND registration and how India regulates crypto
India has no standalone crypto licence. Instead, notification S.O. 1072(E) of 7 March 2023 made virtual digital asset (VDA) service providers “reporting entities” under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, supervised by the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU-IND). Offshore providers that serve Indians must register too.
Business Standard and Inc42 reported that CoinDCX registered as a reporting entity with FIU-IND in March 2023; Inc42 listed it among 28 VDA providers registered with the unit. FIU-IND does not publish a register we could fetch, so this status is press-reported, not register-checked. Registration is an anti-money-laundering obligation: it does not mean the government vouches for the exchange’s solvency or security.
Crypto in India is legal, not legal tender, and taxed as a VDA. The Supreme Court struck down the RBI’s banking restrictions on crypto businesses on 4 March 2020, which is why exchanges can connect to UPI and bank rails today.
Dogecoin price in INR on CoinDCX
We queried CoinDCX’s public market API on 14 October 2026. Three DOGE markets were active: DOGEINR, DOGEUSDT and DOGEBTC. The INR market accepts limit and market orders with a minimum notional of ₹100. The last DOGEINR trade was ₹8.19, and about 3.58 million DOGE had traded in 24 hours, roughly ₹29 million.
Context helps here. CoinGecko showed KoinBX with the largest INR DOGE book that day, about $658,000 in 24-hour volume, while all INR DOGE volume together was roughly an eighth of Turkish lira volume. India is the world’s top country in Chainalysis’s 2025 adoption index, but rupee Dogecoin markets are thinner than you might expect, so use limit orders for larger amounts. Our DOGE calculator converts INR at the live rate, and the Dogecoin price page shows the wider market.

How to buy Dogecoin on CoinDCX
The flow mirrors most Indian exchanges. Our guide to buying Dogecoin gives the general version.
Sign up and complete KYC
Register with your mobile number and complete identity verification, including your PAN details.
Add rupees
Deposit INR by UPI or bank transfer (NEFT/IMPS). Third-party reviews say deposits are free; check in the app.
Open the DOGE/INR market
Place a limit or market order from ₹100. Limit orders protect you on a thinner book.
Check fees and GST
Review the fee and the 18% GST on that fee on your trade confirmation.
Withdraw DOGE or hold
To self-custody, send on the native Dogecoin network to an address starting with D. Read the withdrawal fee first and test with a small amount.
CoinDCX fees, GST and 1% TDS
CoinDCX’s fee page returned an access error to our checks on 14 October 2026, so we cannot quote an official rate. Two third-party comparisons give different numbers for INR spot trading: one says 0.50% for users with under ₹2 lakh of monthly volume, others 0.10–0.25%. What every source agrees on is the tax layer: 18% GST on the exchange fee, and 1% TDS on the value of every DOGE sale.
| Item | Rate | Status |
|---|---|---|
| INR spot trading fee | 0.10% to 0.50% | Sources conflict; not officially verified |
| GST on trading fees | 18% of the fee | Consistently reported |
| TDS on DOGE sales | 1% of sale value | Indian law, formerly sec. 194S |
| UPI / NEFT deposit | Reportedly free | Not officially verified |
| INR withdrawal | About ₹25 + GST | Reported |
| DOGE withdrawal | Not published | Check the withdrawal screen |
A worked example shows how the layers stack. Say you sell DOGE worth ₹10,000 on DOGEINR. TDS withholds ₹100. If the trading fee were 0.50%, that is ₹50, plus ₹9 of GST on the fee. You would see about ₹9,841 land in your INR balance, and the ₹100 of TDS would count toward your tax when you file. If you made a gain, it is taxed at a flat 30% plus 4% cess, with no deduction except your purchase cost and no set-off against losses on other coins. Such tax, very India.
Deposits and DOGE withdrawals
Rupees in. UPI is the default rail in India, with NEFT and IMPS for larger amounts. Third-party reviews describe UPI and NEFT deposits on CoinDCX as free; we could not verify that officially.
Rupees out. INR withdrawals reportedly cost about ₹25 plus GST. Remember that selling DOGE for INR triggers TDS before the money reaches your bank. Our guide to selling Dogecoin covers the full cash-out flow.
DOGE out. The DOGE withdrawal fee is not published anywhere we could read. Dogecoin’s network fee is tiny, but exchanges set their own charge, so check it on screen. Send only native DOGE to a native Dogecoin address; wrapped BEP-20 “DOGE” is a different token on a different chain. Long-term coins belong in a self-custody Dogecoin wallet, especially after the events below.
The July 2025 hack, in dates
CoinDCX’s security record is dominated by one incident. Press reports from the time agree on the main facts, summarised here.
VDA providers brought under PMLA
Notification S.O. 1072(E) makes crypto exchanges reporting entities with FIU-IND.
CoinDCX registers with FIU-IND
Reported by Business Standard and Inc42.
About $44.2M stolen
Attackers drain an internal operational account used to provide liquidity on a partner exchange.
Disclosure and response
CEO Sumit Gupta says customer wallets are unaffected and the treasury absorbs the loss. ZachXBT criticises a roughly 17-hour disclosure delay. CoinDCX offers a bounty of up to 25% for recovered funds.
DOGEINR trading
Our API check shows DOGEINR active at ₹8.19.
The fact that customer balances were reportedly covered matters, and so does the speed of the treasury response. But a loss of that size from an operational account, and a delay of most of a day before users heard about it, are exactly the things our security criterion is designed to penalise. India has seen this before: WazirX, another major exchange, suffered a large hack in 2024 and only restarted trading in October 2025. Read our Dogecoin scams guide too, since fake “recovery” services tend to appear after every hack.
Pros, cons and our score
👍 What we like
- Native DOGE/INR order book with a ₹100 minimum
- DOGEUSDT and DOGEBTC pairs too
- UPI and bank deposits
- Reported FIU-IND reporting entity since March 2023
- Coinbase as an investor
👀 What to watch
- About $44.2M hack on 19 July 2025, with a slow disclosure
- Official fee page could not be checked; reported rates conflict
- 18% GST on fees plus 1% TDS on every sale
- DOGE withdrawal fee not published
- FIU-IND status only press-reported
Our rubric weights regulation at 30%, DOGE fiat access and liquidity at 20%, fees and transparency at 20%, security record at 20% and DOGE features at 10%. CoinDCX scores well on fiat access, with a real rupee order book and a low minimum, and reasonably on regulation for India, where FIU-IND registration is the bar. It loses heavily on security for the 2025 incident and on transparency because its fees could not be verified. That adds up to 6.5 out of 10.
The DOGE/INR market works, and the low minimum is friendly. But treat CoinDCX as a place to trade, not a vault: buy, then move what you keep to your own wallet.
Alternatives and who it suits
CoinDCX suits Indian residents who want to buy DOGE with rupees through UPI, in small amounts, from a well-known domestic exchange. It suits less well anyone who wants an official fee schedule before trading, or who plans to leave large balances on an exchange.
Other venues with DOGE/INR on 14 October 2026 included WazirX, KoinBX and ZebPay; DOGE on CoinSwitch and Mudrex could not be confirmed. Our India country page compares them. Because Coinbase is a CoinDCX investor, our Coinbase review makes a natural comparison, and every scored venue is on the exchange reviews hub.
CEX.IO, which appears elsewhere on this site, does not accept users from India: India is on its list of unsupported countries, updated 10 September 2026. Indian readers should stick to locally registered exchanges.
Questions people ask
Can I buy Dogecoin on CoinDCX?+
Yes. CoinDCX’s public API showed an active DOGEINR market on 14 October 2026, with a minimum order of ₹100 and both limit and market orders, plus DOGEUSDT and DOGEBTC pairs. The last DOGE price was ₹8.19 at the time.
Is CoinDCX registered with FIU-IND?+
Indian press reported in March 2023 that CoinDCX registered as a reporting entity with the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU-IND) under the anti-money-laundering law. FIU-IND does not publish a register we could fetch, so this is press-reported, not register-checked.
Was CoinDCX hacked?+
Yes. On 19 July 2025 about $44.2 million was stolen from an internal operational account CoinDCX used for liquidity on a partner exchange. The CEO said customer wallets were unaffected and the company’s treasury absorbed the loss. Investigator ZachXBT criticised a roughly 17-hour delay in disclosure.
What are CoinDCX fees for Dogecoin?+
We could not read CoinDCX’s official fee page, and third-party sources disagree: some quote 0.50% for INR spot trades below ₹2 lakh of volume, others 0.10–0.25%. Sources agree that 18% GST applies on fees and 1% TDS on sales. Check the fee shown at order entry.
How does 1% TDS work when I sell DOGE on CoinDCX?+
When you sell DOGE for rupees on an Indian exchange, 1% of the sale value is withheld as tax deducted at source. On a ₹10,000 sale that is ₹100. It counts toward your tax, but gains are still taxed at a flat 30% plus cess, with no set-off of losses.
CoinDCX or Coinbase for DOGE in India?+
Coinbase agreed an investment in CoinDCX, so the two are linked. For INR purchases, CoinDCX runs a native DOGE/INR order book with UPI and bank deposits. Compare both reviews, and remember that every DOGE sale through an Indian exchange carries 1% TDS.
