Please read this before you buy DOGE

doge-coin.finance is an independent information site about Dogecoin (DOGE). It is not the official Dogecoin website, it has no link to the Dogecoin Foundation, the Core developers or Elon Musk, and nothing here is financial advice.

Our buttons open CEX.IO, an exchange running since 2013. In the US it is registered with NMLS (#1804170) and lists money-transmitter licences in 38 states plus DC; in the UK it is registered with the FCA for anti-money-laundering purposes (firm 1007192). Check that it serves your country first.

Updated: 18+. Crypto is volatile and you can lose money. Not financial advice.

Not the official Dogecoin site

doge-coin.finance is an independent editorial project. It is not the official website of Dogecoin, it does not speak for the project, and it cannot change anything about the Dogecoin network. The official site is dogecoin.com, the Dogecoin Foundation is at foundation.dogecoin.com, and the Dogecoin Core software is developed in the open on GitHub.

We have no affiliation with the Dogecoin Foundation, the Dogecoin Core developers, Dogecoin’s original creators Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer, Elon Musk, House of Doge or any exchange. Our domain contains the word “doge”, as do many unrelated projects. We are not connected to Baby Doge, “Dogecoin 2.0”, Dogechain, wrapped DOGE tokens on other blockchains, or the US Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E.). Our guide to what Dogecoin is explains how the real thing differs from the lookalikes.

Not financial, tax or legal advice

Everything on this site is general information for educational purposes. It is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold Dogecoin or any other asset. We don’t know your income, savings, debts, goals or tax position, so we can’t tell you what is right for you.

Our price prediction page shows maths scenarios and clearly attributed third-party opinions, not promises. Our investment page lays out arguments on both sides; it doesn’t make the decision for you. Country guides summarise tax and legal rules in plain language, but rules change and individual cases differ. Before you make a financial decision, consider speaking to a licensed financial adviser, and for taxes, check with your tax authority or a qualified professional.

Meme phrases like “much wow” and “to the moon” appear on the site as jokes. They are not forecasts, and nobody can guarantee where the price of DOGE will go.

Volatility and risk

Dogecoin is extremely volatile, even by crypto standards. Its price has swung by tens of percent in days, often on nothing more than a social media post. On CoinGecko’s data, DOGE peaked at about $0.7316 on 7 May 2021; on 14 October 2026 it traded around $0.0815, close to 89% below that high. Past performance tells you nothing reliable about the future.

DOGE has no maximum supply. Ten thousand new coins are created with every block, so the supply keeps growing. It produces no income, dividends or cash flows. Its price depends on demand, sentiment, liquidity and the wider crypto market. You can lose some or all of the money you put in. Exchanges can fail, freeze withdrawals or be hacked, and crypto held on a platform is usually not covered by deposit-insurance schemes. If you hold DOGE yourself, losing your seed phrase means losing your coins, with nobody to call. Only use money you can afford to lose.

Accuracy and live data

We work hard to keep pages accurate and dated, as described in our editorial policy. Still, crypto moves fast: fees, licences, listings and laws can change between our checks, and we can make mistakes. Content is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. Always confirm important details, such as fees, availability in your country or tax rules, on the official site of the exchange or authority before acting.

Live prices and network statistics come from public third-party APIs (CoinGecko, with Binance as a backup, Blockchair for network data and public currency-rate feeds). They can be delayed, incomplete or briefly wrong, and they may differ from the price you get on an exchange, which adds its own spread and fees. When those APIs fail, our widgets hide the numbers instead of guessing. Calculators show estimates, not quotes.

Buttons such as “Open account” on many pages link to CEX.IO. We chose that link ourselves; it is not a partnership, and it does not influence our reviews. A link is not an endorsement that CEX.IO, or any other platform, is right for you or available where you live.

CEX.IO in particular has real limits. It is closed to new sign-ups in the EU and EEA, existing EU accounts are withdrawal-only and its MiCA application is still pending. It doesn’t serve India or Canada, and New York residents are restricted. In the US it holds NMLS registration #1804170; in the UK its FCA entry (firm 1007192) is an anti-money-laundering registration, not full authorisation. In several other countries it operates without a local licence. Check our country guides and exchange reviews for local alternatives.

Third-party sites

We link to exchanges, regulators, block explorers, news sites and other external pages so you can check our sources. We don’t control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, security or privacy practices. Before entering personal details or funds anywhere, make sure you are on the real domain. Bookmarking official sites is one of the simplest ways to dodge phishing.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for your own decisions, for checking that a platform is legal and licensed where you live, for keeping your wallets and accounts secure, and for reporting and paying any taxes on your crypto. If you’re just starting, our step-by-step buying guide and wallet guide cover the basics. By using the site, you accept this disclaimer together with our terms of use and privacy policy.
